Outreach Worker (Home Based)

Role:               Domestic Violence Outreach Worker

Based:            Home Based

Salary:               £13 – 15 per hour (dependent on experience)

Start Date:      ASAP – February 2022

Duration:        3 – 6 months (strong possibility of the role becoming a temporary to permanent opportunity)

Hours:             Full Time – 37.5 hours

 

Supporting Futures are currently recruiting on behalf of a respected National Charity who specialise in providing support and advocacy services to victims of domestic violence and their children.

We are looking for 6 Home Based Outreach Workers to cover their contracts across the UK – including services in the Home Counties, the East Midlands, East Anglia and London.

The service supports victims of domestic violence with their practical and emotional needs and works to ensure they are safeguarded and fully understand their rights and options.

The roles will be home based (although blended options are available for local candidates should they wish).

Synopsis of duties:

  • Supporting victims of domestic violence and their children in their own homes, the community and in move on accommodation
  • Key working 15 - 18 clients and supporting clients with both their practical and emotional needs including safety, housing, benefits, financial, social inclusion, schooling, mental health, substance misuse, NRPF, immigration and sexual abuse
  • Responsible for carrying out initial assessments, risk assessments (including CAADA DASH RIC assessments in cases of Domestic Violence), devising support plans and liaising with appropriate agencies
  • Making MARAC and Child Protection Referrals
  • Supporting clients to complete housing and welfare benefit applications and accompanying clients to various meetings and appointments
  • Signposting clients to additional services and agencies including counselling, refuge, group programmes (including the Freedom Programme), housing, solicitors etc
  • Facilitating multi-agency working including working closely with the Police, Social Services, GPs, Schools and specialist charities
  • Working in partnership with other agencies and to advocate for survivors to ensure their needs are met
  • Supporting clients to access the community services and facilities

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience supporting victims of domestic violence/ experience of supporting vulnerable women in supported housing
  • Strong safeguarding and risk assessments skills and experience
  • Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months and/ or registered on the DBS Update Service
