Supporting Futures are currently recruiting on behalf of local housing provider who specialise in providing accommodation, support and advocacy services to vulnerable clients within the Midlands.

We are looking for an Intensive Housing Management Officer to work across their Refuges in Birmingham.

 

Synopsis of duties:

  • Provide a customer focused housing management service to clients living within the refuges and dispersed properties within the city, ensuring they can maintain their tenancies.
  • Providing practical housing assistance and information to customers when entering the service helping tenants to complete housing benefit claims, reporting any changes to ensure payment of rent and limiting arrears.
  • Helping tenants understand their tenancies, their rights and responsibilities.
  • Monitoring and meeting relevant health and safety standards in properties carrying out health and safety and risk assessments in the property.
  • Monitoring both the delivery of reactive repairs and planned maintenance across the properties, ensuring it is of a high standard and is cost effective
  • Liaising with other staff or contractors on behalf of the tenant as agreed with them to ensure repairs or rent issues are resolved.
  • Undertaking day-to-day housing management duties, including the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness within services, preparation of rooms and site inspections
  • Monitoring, assisting and reducing issues of anti-social behaviour concerning tenants.
  • Clearly communicating tenant responsibilities and tenancy compliance
  • To ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of vulnerable adults, young people and children in line with Safeguarding regulations. 

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven track record of providing housing management to tenants living within supported accommodation
  • Knowledge of housing benefits, anti-social behaviour, rent arrears and income management
  • Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by victims of abuse
  • Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months and/ or registered on the DBS Update Service
