Senior Therapists
Role: Senior Therapist (Children and Young People)
Based: Home based with 1 or 2 days in the office (North/ West Cumbria)
Rate: 27,800 GBP - 35,700 GBP pa
Hours: 37 hours
Start Date: ASAP – June 2022
Duration: Permanent
Qualification: Diploma level qualification in counselling, child and adolescent psychotherapy, art, play, drama or music therapy
Our client, a highly respected National Children and Young Person’s Charity, is looking to recruit 2 Senior Therapists to join their specialist Emotional Health and Well Being Services.
The service provides individual and group therapy work to children and young people aged 5 to 18 (and up to 25 if have SEN) having trouble with their mental health and emotional well-being.
They work in using a person-centred approach and encourage the use of a range of methods and tools to best fit the child(ren) including play, art, drama and integrative approaches.
The successful candidates will be responsible for directly working with 5 clients and for case allocation and line management of 3 – 4 Therapists.
Role Synopsis:
- Supporting practitioners to work within appropriate caseload requirements
- Maintaining active engagement on all Safeguarding matters
- Ensuring accurate recording for reporting purpose
- Line managing and nurturing a diverse team of therapists
- Working with individual strengths to support case allocation and management
- Holding a caseload of complex cases as required (approximately 5 clients)
- Facilitating decision making to support access to appropriate local services including specialist CAMHS through consultation according to level and nature of need
- Attending and to contributing to multi-disciplinary meetings including: Early Help Panels, Practitioner Forums etc. where applicable
They are looking for someone who is passionate about:
- Children's and Young people's emotional health and wellbeing
- Improving outcomes for children and young people
The successful candidate must have:
- A diploma level qualification in counselling, child and adolescent psychotherapy, art, play, drama or music therapy which has included a practicum / placement of at least 100 hours of supervised practice
- Registration with a relevant professional body e.g. BACP, PTUK, HCPC, UKCP
- A comprehensive understanding of children's safeguarding
- Experience of line management in a children's therapeutic setting
