Role:                 People Administrator

Based:              Camberwell (2 days from home, 3 days in the office)

Salary:              £18 phr UMB

Start Date:        ASAP

Duration:         Temporary until May 2025

Hours:              35 hours

 

Our client, a leading charity dedicated to helping people facing severe disadvantage to find jobs, homes and support are looking for a temporary People Administrator to join their team.

 

The role will providing a high-level service and administrative support service to the HR team, including onboarding, recruitment, internal transfers and leaver administration.

 

Synopsis of duties:

  • Managing the onboarding process for all new employees, including Preparing offer letters following recruitment and liaising with the recruiting manager and People Officer as needed.
  • Completing new starter checks, such as references and DBS checks, where applicable.
  • Drafting employment contracts through People First and sending out onboarding information.
  • Keeping the New Starter checklist updated.
  • Monitoring the HR inbox and query tracker, ensuring all inquiries are addressed within an appropriate timeframe.
  • Processing internal transfers, where applicable.
  • Accurately updating people records to ensure they feed into other central service functions and are completed in a timely manner to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Managing the processing of leavers, where appropriate.
  • Coordinating with the individual and their manager to agree on the leaving date and finalise terms such as leave and final payment.
  • Assisting the team with various HR projects.
  • Updating the payroll memo in a timely manner to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Collaborating with other members of the HR team to ensure consistency and uphold HR best practices.
  • Providing feedback to the Executive Director of People & Culture to support the continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven administrative experience in a similar role, particularly working with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Experience working within a HR department.
  • Familiar with Compliance and Onboarding procedures.
  • Strong IT skills including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Preferred experience of working within a non-profit/charity organisation.
