Our client, a charity based in Birmingham is looking to recruit a Male Domestic Adbuse Worker to provide a high quality frontline domestic abuse support service to men experiencing domestic violence and abuse and stalking; to access safer accommodation, make long term positive and sustainable changes in their lives and to recover from the harm of domestic violence and abuse
Synopsis of duties:
- Develop and establish positive partnerships with homelessness organisations, Housing services, Cranstoun to ensure holistic and joined up service delivery
- Deliver a time bound service for men who are survivors experiencing complex housing needs, including completing risk assessments, developing safety plans, and supporting through the criminal justice system.
- Provide specialist housing and homelessness prevention, advice, advocacy, and support to male survivors experiencing additional barriers to accessing safer accommodation
- Crisis interventions work where necessary with timely referrals into MARAC and other safeguarding platforms
- Work in partnership with external agencies, including the police, social care and others to ensure appropriate support is provided and the safety of the survivor is paramount
Essential Requirements:
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults and children, acknowledging safeguarding concerns and responding appropriately
- Experience of working with victims of domestic abuse in a professional capacity
- Experience of managing a caseload of vulnerable individuals
- Experience of managing complex casework, including issues such as child abuse, mental health, substance abuse, working with trauma in adults and children and crisis intervention
