Salary:              £37,261 per annum

Our client, a leading specialist rape and sexual abuse support charity are looking for a Head of Children and Young People’s Counselling and Wellbeing Services to join their team.

 

The role will include leading the safe delivery, strategic direction and development of the charity’s trauma informed CYP counselling and wellbeing services.

 

Synopsis of duties:

  • Responsible for meeting strategic objectives and ensuring the safe, effective and efficient delivery of CYP centred and trauma-informed services
  • Responsible for budget management within the CYP service provision and contributing towards the impact and evaluation monitoring of CYP services
  • Establishing and nurturing supportive relationships with partner CYP organisations which will inform, influence, improve and challenge their understanding of sexual trauma and their responses to CYP survivors
  • Attending events and meetings with established and potential partner organisations, stakeholders and beneficiaries
  • Leading in the recruitment of team members to provide services for CYP and parents/carers
  • Promoting training, development, and safe working practice opportunities to the CYP team
  • Ensuring all CYP team members receive appropriate supervision, including access to ‘out of hours’ support if needed, through the Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • Line managing two (part-time) CYP Team Leaders, (part-time) Senior CYP Counsellors and wider CYP counselling and wellbeing team
  • Operational responsibilities surrounding CYP service provision

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Counselling qualification to diploma or degree level – Level 4 (desirable)
  • At least 5 years’ experience working therapeutically with children and young people eg. Social Work, Education, ISVA and Youth Work)
  • Experience working with victims of Sexual Violence and other forms of abuse
  • Extensive specialised knowledge of the immediate and longer-term impacts of sexual violence, abuse and trauma on children and young people
  • Experience leading and managing staff/volunteers
  • Willingness to work out of hours (including safeguarding ‘on call’)
  • Must have an enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service
