Based:              Birmingham (at least one day in the office)

Salary:              £36,648 FTE (£28,932.62 pro rata)

Our client, a leading specialist rape and sexual abuse support charity are looking for a Head of Fundraising and Development to join their team.

 

The role will include generating income for the organisation from diverse sources, leading on impact and evaluations.

 

Synopsis of duties:

  • Supporting the CEO and working closely alongside Heads of Services to help implement the strategic direction of the organisation, managing operations, policy and communications
  • Lead on securing funding from public sector commissioners, charitable trusts and foundations, individual donors, corporates and other income sources
  • Co-creating and leading on fundraising strategies and working with colleagues to develop budgets for funding proposals
  • Supporting fundraisers with income through donations, small grants, legacies, and events
  • Attending networking events and meetings with donors, grant makers and commissioners
  • Acting as the lead contact for external research/evaluation, supporting with evaluation through developing survivor focus groups, surveys and interviews
  • Manage a number of websites and social media channels; ensuring content is up to date
  • Providing content for public newsletters, team updates and other resources for survivors
  • Line managing one (part-time) Fundraiser, one (part-time) Specialist Trainer and one (part-time) Data Finance Officer
  • Supporting staff with community fundraising, setting annual fundraising target, carrying out monthly supervision, assessing their workload, responding to their training, development and workplace wellbeing needs
  • Supporting Data & Finance Officer with data collection, monitoring and evaluation which will contribute towards evaluating the organisation’s impact and funding reporting
  • Overseeing the effective recruitment and training of fundraising volunteers

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years experience leading and managing fundraising within a voluntary sector organisation
  • Have previously worked within an organisation that supports victims of sexual abuse/violence
  • Knowledge/experience winning significant grants and tenders from donors, trust, foundations and statutory commissioners
  • Experience bid writing for funds and tenders
  • Line management experience
  • Ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies
  • Must have an enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service
