Temporary Refuge Manager
Role: Temporary Refuge Manager
Based: Birmingham
Rate: £18 per hour umbrella
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Temporary for 4 months
Hours: 21 hours per week – hours negotiable between Mon - Fri
Our client, an established domestic violence charity is looking to recruit a Temporary Refuge Manager to lead a team in providing support advocacy and refuge to BAME women, women suffering Domestic Abuse and women in the criminal Justice system.
Synopsis of Duties:
- Take responsibility and accountability for service delivery and staff management as instructed by the CEO
- Work collaboratively with the CEO
- Maintain effective communication on all daily operational matters
- Take instruction and guidance, become an integral part of the strategic planning for services
- Prepare weekly/monthly/bi-monthly activity via Lamplight reports (Case Management System) on Refugee admittance and voids to the CEO and Board of Trustees
- Financial recording and reporting, budget management, fee income on refuge occupancy
- Responsible and accountable to the CEO and the Board of trustees for the performance of staff and projects under your supervision.
- CEO is informed of proposed operational changes
- Ensure staff are appropriately recruited, retained, and developed to meet the needs of the service
- Prepare for and present accurate and timely information and reports to key stakeholders and Funders
- Undertake any other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the role as directed by the CEO
- To maintain full occupancy of Iona Houses WAITS Refuge
- To Risk asses for appropriate referrals
- To oversee the rota management of the services
- Ensure that all internal processes at each refuge are carried out accurately and effectively, including:
-Risk Assessments
-Health & safety checks,
- Reporting repairs to landlords ensuring repairs are completed in a timely manner
-Engagement
-Safeguarding
-Signposting
Essential Requirements:
- Prior management experience
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults and children, acknowledging safeguarding concerns and responding appropriately
- Experience of working with victims of domestic abuse in a professional capacity
- Enhanced Child and Adult workforve DBS on the update service
