Our client, a leading domestic abuse charity, are looking for a 2 x Child and Family Workers to join their team.

 

The role is based within refuges, supporting the empowerment of victims/survivors and to regain control of their lives.

 

Synopsis of duties:

• To receive referrals and applications from women and their children in need of safe housing, assessing their safety, eligibility and supporting their entry into refuge.
• To work with the women to identify their support needs and devise a support plan.
• To Manage a caseload of women and their children, to ensure they receive the appropriate service and support for their needs.
• To work closely with children affected by DA, ensuring their safety and helping them to process their trauma.
• To help residence navigate their next steps to resettlement and independence.
• To help organise activities in the refuge for the women and children,
• To support women to enable them to understand and support their children’s needs.
• To contribute to MARAC and other multi-agency arrangements.

 

Essential Requirements:

• Must have experience supporting victims of domestic abuse and their children.
• Experience managing a caseload of survivors.
• Experience working in a refuge/supported accommodation setting.
• Must be a driver with access to a vehicle.
• Must have a DBS on the update service
