Role:               Child Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA)
Location:        Yorkshire
Hours:             37 hours per week
Hourly Rate:   £14 – 18 per hour depending on pay status
Start Date:      Maximum 2 weeks’ notice
Duration:        3 months ongoing
Essential:       Driver with access to a car

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Child ISVA to provide trauma-informed advocacy and emotional support to children and young people affected by sexual assault and abuse. The role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and families, with hybrid working arrangements across the community, office, and home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist support and advocacy to children and young people (aged 0-16) who have experienced sexual assault and/or rape, including CSE, familial abuse, or stranger assault
  • Support parents and carers of children under 5, ensuring wider needs such as housing and mental health are addressed
  • Accompany and support young people through SARC, reporting processes, and the Criminal Justice System
  • Deliver creative interventions and emotional support, using approaches such as arts and crafts to build trust and resilience
  • Deliver group sessions in schools on topics such as boundaries, self-esteem, healthy relationships, consent, and understanding the justice process
  • Provide advocacy and practical support to children and young people attending court
  • Signpost to specialist and holistic services including counselling and family support

 

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and young people who have experienced trauma
  • Strong engagement skills with CYP, particularly aged 12+
  • Previous experience in roles such as ISVA, CYP ISVA, CSE Worker, Youth Worker, Residential Support Worker (CSE/CSA homes), or Social Worker
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and within multi-agency settings
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver creative and flexible interventions
  • DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the update service
  • Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle
