ISVA
Role: Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA)
Location: Home based – ideally Yorkshire (for future face-to-face visits)
Hours: 27 hours per week (flexible – must be worked between Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm)
Hourly Rate: £14-18 depending on pay status
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3–6 months temporary assignment
Essential: Must have previous sexual violence support experience
Our client is seeking an experienced ISVA to join their service on a temporary basis. This role can initially be home based, but being local to Yorkshire is highly desirable for sustainability, as future face-to-face visits may be required. The post will play a vital role in supporting clients, managing a busy caseload of referrals, and delivering crisis intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for survivors of sexual violence, carrying out initial assessments
- Provide risk management and safety planning to ensure client wellbeing
- Deliver crisis intervention and emotional support through a trauma-informed approach
- Manage a high number of referrals and a waiting list, ensuring timely and effective responses
- Signpost and liaise with relevant agencies and services to support client needs
- Maintain accurate case records and comply with safeguarding protocols
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting survivors of sexual violence (essential).
- Background as ISVA, Sexual Violence Support Worker, or similar specialist role
- Ability to carry out crisis intervention and manage risk effectively
- Strong communication skills, with ability to manage a high caseload
- Organised, resilient, and able to work independently in a home-based setting
- DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the update service
- Ideally local to Yorkshire for longer term service needs
