Based:        Nottingham

Rate:           £17 - £18 phr UMB

Start Date: ASAP

Duration:   Temporary

Hours:        37 hours per week

 

Our client, a well-respected domestic abuse charity are looking for a BAME Safer Accommodation Worker to join their team.

 

You would be responsible for providing culturally sensitive support to women from BAME communities experiencing domestic abuse and facilitating access o safe accommodation.

 

Synopsis of duties:

  • Provide high-quality casework and safety planning support
  • Advocate for survivors with external agencies (e.g. MARAC, courts, housing, health)
  • Support women resettling after leaving refuge or temporary accommodation
  • Work collaboratively within the Safer Accommodation team and attend multi-agency meetings
  • Ensure accurate and confidential record-keeping
  • Promote the service and maintain clear referral pathways
  • Safeguard children and vulnerable adults
  • Champion equality, diversity, and survivor voices
  • Contribute to team development and support volunteers
  • Stay up to date with legislation, safeguarding, and best practices through training

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience providing support to women affected by domestic abuse, particularly from BAME communities.
  • Awareness of cultural, religious and social barriers faced by BME women accessing support.
  • Knowledge of housing, welfare and policy issues relating to domestic abuse and homelessness.
  • Must drive and have access to a vehicle
  • Must have an enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service
