Community Development Lead

Based:        Peterborough

Salary:        £28,884 - £31,698 FTE per annum

Start Date: ASAP

Duration:   Permanent

Hours:        37 hours per week (would consider part-time)

 

Our client, a well-respected charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable families, is looking for a Community Development Lead to join their team.

 

You would be responsible for driving forward a community project, aimed at changing the lives of families.

 

Synopsis of duties:

• Co-ordinate and develop community-based services and projects for a community centre
• Co-ordinating food access and support – coordinating the distribution of emergency food parcels to families in crisis.
• Build strong relationships with residents, partners, and stakeholders.
• Recruit, supervise and co-ordinate a team of volunteers.
• Promote an asset-based approach to community development.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, funding, and reporting requirements.

 

Essential Requirements:

• Professional qualification and/or relevant experience in Community Development, Youth Work, Social Work or another relevant field.
• Experience in organising and delivering community events and activities.
• Understanding of food insecurity and the role of community food initiatives.
