Domestic Abuse Practitioner
Role: Domestic Abuse Practitioner
Based: Shropshire
Rate of Pay: £14-18 per hour depending on experience and pay status
Start Date: ASAP – Oct/ Nov 2025
Duration: May 2026
Hours: 25 per week – to include 2 evenings (Mon-Thurs)

Supporting Futures are recruiting on behalf of a leading charity delivering behaviour change and prevention programmes for individuals using abusive behaviours in relationships.
This is an exciting opportunity to co-facilitate group and 1:1 interventions within a domestic abuse behaviour change programme designed to promote accountability and safer relationships.
Synopsis of duties:
- Co-deliver behaviour change group sessions and 1:1 interventions with individuals using abusive behaviours
- Engage participants through assessment, motivation and trauma-informed practice
- Conduct risk assessments and liaise with partner support services to ensure safety of victims and families
- Work collaboratively with local agencies (MARAC, MAPPA and partner organisations)
- Maintain accurate case files and contribute to ongoing monitoring and evaluation
What they are looking for:
- Candidates who are passionate and committed to working within a multi-disciplinary team and will have a demonstrable track record of working with complex need service users
- Experience within the field of domestic abuse, and/or mental health, substance misuse and offending (this can include Mental Health/ Substance Misuse Services, Prison, Probation, YOT, Care Leavers, Supported Housing/ Hostel and/ or Social Services)
- An understanding of domestic abuse and it’s impact
- Confident group facilitator, able to challenge harmful attitudes constructively
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and risk management experience
- Collaborative and resilient, with a genuine belief in the capacity for change
- The successful candidate will need to have a DBS on the update service/ issued within the last 12 months
