Supporting Futures are recruiting on behalf of a well-established charity delivering domestic abuse support services within Shropshire. They provide a holistic and trauma-informed service to adults, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.
This rewarding role focuses on supporting children and young people aged 5-18 who have experienced or been impacted by domestic abuse, empowering them to build confidence, safety and understanding of healthy relationships.
Synopsis of duties:
- Provide one-to-one and group support for children and young people affected by or at risk of domestic abuse
- Deliver outreach sessions within schools, colleges and community settings
- Complete assessments, safety planning and short-term interventions (typically four sessions per CYP)
- Work in partnership with parents, schools and other agencies to ensure joined-up, child-centred support
- Maintain accurate case records, safeguarding compliance and data confidentiality
- Promote awareness and understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on children and young people
What they are looking for:
- Experience supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse or trauma, ideally within an educational setting
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and confident multi-agency working
- Skilled in 1:1 and group facilitation, with a calm, child-centred approach
- The successful candidate will need to hold a full UK driving licence within access to a vehicle for work purposes as well as a DBS on the update service/ issued within the last 12 months
