Children's Wellbeing Practitioner

Role:                  Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner
Location:           Coventry & North Warwickshire
Rate:                  £16 – £18.50 per hour (Umbrella)
Duration:           12 weeks initially, with a strong possibility of extension

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-known children's charity for a Temporary Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner. The role involves supporting children and young people aged 10–25 with their mental health and emotional wellbeing across community hubs and schools. This position is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people.

Summary of the Role:
You will provide emotional, practical, and wellbeing support to children and young people through drop-ins, brief interventions, and targeted sessions. The role includes promoting services in local settings, working collaboratively with partner agencies, and maintaining excellent safeguarding practice. Working hours are primarily Tuesday to Friday, totalling 27.5 hours per week, with flexibility for those preferring Wed–Fri only. Travel between sites is required.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver wellbeing support and guidance to children and young people.

  • Provide brief interventions and targeted sessions to address mental health and wellbeing needs.

  • Support young people in developing coping strategies.

  • Promote services within community hubs, schools, and colleges.

  • Work effectively with partner organisations and professionals.

  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people.

  • Strong ability to engage and build rapport with CYP.

  • Knowledge of mental health issues affecting young people, including anxiety, behavioural challenges, bullying, sleep issues, and eating disorders.

  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience working in partnership with professionals.

  • Full, valid DBS (within the last year or on the update service).

  • Full UK driving licence (travel between sites required).
