Homeless Support Worker

Job Title: Support Worker – Homeless Service
Location: Coventry
Job Type: Adhoc (initially) progressing to Permanent Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Pay Rate:

  • £12.21 per hour (PAYE)
  • £16.00 per hour (Umbrella)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join a dedicated homeless service in Coventry. This role will begin on an adhoc basis, offering flexible shifts, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time position of 40 hours per week.

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, helping them access essential services, sustain accommodation, and work towards independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support to service users
  • Assist with daily living tasks and promote independent living skills
  • Support individuals in accessing external services (healthcare, housing, employment, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate records and update support plans
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
  • Respond effectively to challenging situations and behaviours

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar support role (preferred but not essential)
  • A caring, patient, and non-judgemental approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service check) is essential
