Main Purpose

To provide practical, emotional, and developmental support to women and children affected by domestic abuse, ensuring a safe and supportive refuge environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate refuge services to ensure effective day-to-day running
  • Deliver support across refuge and dispersed accommodation
  • Manage referrals, admissions, and support planning
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and monitoring data
  • Facilitate house meetings and support children’s development
  • Liaise with external agencies and represent residents where appropriate
  • Contribute to service development, training, and policy implementation
  • Support volunteers and colleagues
  • Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality, equality, and health & safety standards are upheld

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and children
  • Understanding of domestic abuse and its impact
  • Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills
  • Ability to assess needs and provide tailored support
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, and equality

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable 
  • Enhanced DBS check dated within the last 12 months or on the Update Service required.
