We are currently recruiting for a Caseworker to join a newly established women’s support service across North Yorkshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced support worker, caseworker or keyworker who is passionate about supporting women facing multiple disadvantages including domestic abuse, criminal justice involvement, homelessness, exploitation, substance misuse, poor mental health and social exclusion.

The service delivers holistic, trauma-informed and person-centred support to women across the county, including those facing barriers to engagement, women living in rural communities and those from minority groups.

What does the role involve?

  • Managing a caseload of women and delivering person-centred, trauma-informed support
  • Completing assessments, risk assessments, safety plans and tailored support plans
  • Delivering 1:1 interventions, mentoring and group-based support
  • Supporting women referred through criminal justice pathways, partner agencies and self-referral routes
  • Working closely with police, probation, local authorities and specialist support services
  • Delivering outreach support to women in rural communities
  • Supporting engagement in women-only safe spaces, drop-in services and community settings
  • Providing assertive outreach to young women and girls around exploitation, county lines, unhealthy relationships and wider vulnerabilities
  • Maintaining accurate case records, reports and outcome tracking

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience delivering trauma-informed, gender-responsive support
  • Experience supporting women with complex needs and multiple disadvantage
  • Knowledge of domestic abuse, homelessness, substance misuse, exploitation, criminal justice or safeguarding
  • A compassionate, non-judgemental and person-led approach
  • Someone creative in their approach to engaging and supporting women facing barriers
  • Strong partnership working and multi-agency collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
  • Full clean driving licence and confidence travelling across the county

The client is particularly keen to hear from candidates with relevant lived experience, whether direct or indirect, and welcomes applicants who can demonstrate how this strengthens their ability to support women effectively and empathetically.

Please note

Due to the nature of the service, this post is open to female applicants only under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

Enhanced DBS (Adult & Child Workforce) will be required for this role.
