Specialist Support Worker

Role: Safehouse Support Worker

Location: Somerset

Rate: £14.96 per hour PAYE

Hours: 3 days per week, ideally Wednesday to Friday

Contract: Temporary until April 2027, with the potential to become permanent

Supporting Futures are recruiting for a Safehouse Support Worker to join a specialist supported accommodation service for vulnerable women in Somerset.

You will manage a small caseload, providing practical and emotional support to help clients feel safe, access appropriate services and work towards greater independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a small caseload
  • Completing risk and needs assessments
  • Developing and reviewing support plans
  • Providing practical and emotional support
  • Responding to safeguarding concerns
  • Advocating for clients and working with external agencies
  • Maintaining accurate client records
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the accommodation

We are looking for someone with experience supporting vulnerable people within a safehouse, refuge, supported accommodation, domestic abuse, homelessness, complex needs or a similar service.

The client ideally requires someone to work Wednesday to Friday but may consider four days or alternative working days for the right candidate.

Shifts alternate weekly between:

  • 7:30am - 4:00pm
  • 11:00am - 7:30pm

The successful candidate will also need to work bank holidays where these fall on their normal working days and participate in an on-call rota.
