Based:                       South West England

Rate:                           £12-15 per hour (dependent upon experience and qualifications)

Qualifications:           Recognised Accredited ISVA Qualification is highly desirable

We are looking for a CHISVA to join an established service that provides individual and family support to domestic abuse and sexual violence victims and their children across the South West of England.

 

Synopsis of duties:

  • To provide emotional and practical support to children and young people who have experienced sexual violence and abuse.
  • Carrying out risk assessments, support needs analysis and support and safety plans are developed
  • Managing a high caseload of clients
  • Advising supporting clients through the Criminal Justice System and ensuring their voice is heard
  • Ensuring clients that have been referred to the service are contacted within 24 hours where possible
  • Working with partner agencies to enable clients to access additional services including therapeutic, medical and legal
  • Attend MARAC, MASH and Children’s Services meetings if appropriate

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Extensive experience of supporting children and young people that have experience sexual assault/ violence and/or gender-based violence (including domestic abuse, CSE and Trafficking)
  • You must have a clear understanding of the myths and facts of sexual violence, rape trauma syndrome, the long-term mental health effects of sexual violence, self-harm, suicidal feelings and attempts.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding children and child protection protocols and procedures
  • Proven track record of successfully carrying and managing a high caseload
  • Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months and/ or registered on the DBS Update Service
  • Full driving licence, business insurance and the use of a road worth vehicle
