Domestic Abuse Rough Sleeper Navigator
Role: Domestic Abuse Rough Sleeper Outreach worker
Based: Birmingham
Rate: £13 per hour umbrella
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Temp until end May 2023
Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours (Monday 6am – 2pm, Tuesday – Thursday 9am – 5pm, Friday 9am – 5pm)
Our client, a Domestic Violence charity based Birmingham is looking to recruit a Domestic Abuse rough sleeper navigator to support females who are currently rough sleeping to move away from the streets into settled and secure accommodation
Synopsis of duties:
- Providing advice and support to women that have been sleeping rough or sofa surfing.
- Maintaining an environment that is supportive, respects their dignity and individual needs of each client whilst using empathy
- Assisting with homeless applications, benefits, move on accommodation, immigration, employment and budgeting
- Managing your own caseload of clients living within the respite service.
- Carrying out rough sleeper walks/ outreach support
Essential Requirements:
- Experience supporting victims of domestic violence/ experience of supporting vulnerable women in supported housing or community-based servicesStrong safeguarding and risk assessments skills and experience
- Ability to crisis manage and work well under pressure
- Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months and/ or registered on the DBS Update Service
