Hours: Between 22.5 hours – 30 hours per week negotiable
Our client, a specialist Domestic Violence charity based in the Black Country is looking to recruit a Therapeautic and Wellbeing Clinical Lead to ensure that they only work with experienced and competent counsellors and monitor, audit, and assure professional practice and sound clinical judgement. The post holder will lead on clinical decision making within the service working closely with all counsellors ensuring agreed professional standards e.g. BACP are maintained
Synopsis of duties:
- To undertake initial assessments for clients referred into the counselling and wellbeing service identifying need and risk. From the initial assessment the clinical lead will assess eligibility, identify the appropriate counselling modality and named counsellor. Support, advice and guidance will be available for counsellors throughout the client journey with a final oversight in advance of the client counsellor relationship ending (case closure).
- To oversee the counsellor and client contract and support counsellors where appropriate with clinical decisions. Where appropriate share clinical decisions with the Counselling and Wellbeing Manager who has ultimate responsibility for safeguarding and reporting.
- Identify suitable counsellors and volunteers for service development and learning.
- Develop and oversee group counselling appropriate to specific abuse types, gender and other identified need. You will be required to ensure that appropriate interventions, safeguarding and support is incorporated meeting accredited standards.
- Support the Counselling and Wellbeing Manager to ensure counsellors complete the appropriate administration and outcomes framework documentation to assess and evaluate outcomes and impact for clients in service. This will be conditional and related to payments as this influences future funding for the service.
- Support the counsellors in all safeguarding matters ensuring appropriate decisions and procedures are followed in line with policies and procedures. Report issues, concerns to the Counselling and Wellbeing Manager as part of the clinical governance framework
- Work with the Counselling and Wellbeing Manager to report into the BCWA Clinical Governance Group appropriate matters and issues
- For non-counselling interventions work with the Counselling and Wellbeing Manager and other Operational managers to incorporate support groups that are currently delivered and develop further opportunities to create access to group wellbeing and support across all service areas.
- To work with the Chief Executive Officer to develop strategic and operational plans setting out aims and ambitions for the service and working with support services
- Lead on pilot projects targeting specific client groups/ interventions exploring new opportunities and developments and evaluate for potential future funding opportunities.
- To assist in the development of wellbeing support and services for employees and oversee clinical supervision and where appropriate counselling support
- Ensure the service works within an accredited quality standards framework e.g. BACP and wellbeing at work standards and where possible work towards accreditation.
- Prepare services, systems and processes for internal and external audit and assessment
- Represent in appropriate partner spaces representing the Counselling and Wellbeing service and its links and benefits to other services
- Develop and deliver relevant training, awareness activities and promotional campaigns raising to build skills, knowledge and access to the service.
Essential Requirements:
- To be affiliated and accredited by an appropriate registered body e.g. BACP, UKCP and must work to their ethical guidelines.
- Qualifications in Counselling / Psychotherapy
- Experience with a range of client groups, including adults and children & young people
- Experience in networking and building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Have a current driving license and access to a vehicle
