Role: Service Manager – Youth Related Projects
Based: London (Flexible on location and some remote working)
Rate: £24-28*phr
Start Date: Oct 2023
Duration: Minimum 3 Months, strong possibility of extension
Our client, a well-respected charity is looking for a Service Manager to join their dedicated and compassionate team, working specifically with at-risk children and young people across London.
Synopsis of duties:
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and support of Youth Related Projects; Community based gang and youth violence intervention services, floating support, hospital-based services, homelessness and county lines across London.
- Support management of service delivery teams including Team Leaders, Caseworkers and Data Co-Ordinators
- Ensure all organisational staff management processes are adhered to including Inductions and Probation, annual objective setting and appraisal
- Ensure that performance related procedures are effectively implemented across each area; regular supervisions, learning and development needs assessed and met, CPD
- Provide advice, guidance and support to team members and volunteers
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve service delivery
- Ensuring that services meet their contractual and legal obligations
- Provide Monthly & Quarterly Reports
- Develop and monitor processes to ensure clients receive the support needed (ie, referral, risk management and exit processes)
- Work closely with other Service Managers, develop and maintain working relationships with Commissioners, Key Stakeholders, Referral and Partner Agencies
- Hold regular management meetings, organise and engage with Service & Project reviews
Essential Requirements:
- Proven track record of managing teams, including carrying put inductions, supervisions, performance reviews, competencies and appraisals
- A deep understanding of the complex issues facing at-risk children and young people
- You will be a skilled communicator and collaborator, able to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Understanding of the strategic environment in which CYP services are being delivered and the implications for the organisation
- Ability to manage a range of staff with varied skill sets delivering a variety of services, able to motivate and encourage teams in a professional and positive manner
- Ability to use IT to support both scrutiny and delivery of work, including using new systems
- Substantial experience of assessing risk and implementing safety procedures when thinking about children and young people involved in or at risk of violence or exploitation
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and growth and be passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of Children and Young People.
- Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months and/ or registered on the DBS Update Service
- Available to start in Oct 2023
