Wellbeing Practitioner

Role:              Wellbeing Practitioner (Children and Young People)

Based:           Coventry/Warwick

Salary:           £26855 – £29840 pa (dependent on experience)

Start Date:      ASAP

Duration:        Temp to Perm/ Permanent

Hours:            17.5 hours per week

 

Our client, a respected children’s charity, are looking for 3 Wellbeing Practitioners to join their expanding Midlands Services.

 

The organisation are one of the UK’s leading Children’s Charities and provide targeted interventions, support and advocacy to vulnerable children, young people and families.

 

The role will include supporting Children and Young People ages 0-25 who are experiencing low level mental health issues and helping them to improve their emotional wellbeing.

 

Synopsis of duties:

· Providing specialist support and advise to Children and Young People who need support with their mental health

. Providing emotional and practical support to Children and Young People

. Conducting risk assessments and devising support plans

· Providing drop-in sessions and structured 1-1 sessions with Children and Young people to help with their complex needs

. Encouraging the child/young person to use tools to help better their mental health and offer coping strategies

. Working collaboratively with partners, ensuring the needs of service users are met

· Ensuring that safeguarding is of paramount importance, ensuring that all safeguarding measures are always followed

 

Essential Requirements:

· Experience of working with children/young people who have suffered with mental health issues

· Knowledge of the issues that children, young people and adults face when accessing mental health services

. Strong understanding of child safeguarding

. Preferably have a qualification in one of the following: Health or Social Care related degree, JNC Qualified Youth Worker, Counselling/Therapist Qualification or equivalent
