CYP Therapist

Role:                           Children and Young Person’s Therapist

Based:                        North East

Salary:                        £20-22ph (dependant on experience and qualification)

Hours:                         flexible – between 14 – 21 hours a week

Start Date:                  ASAP – Jan 2025/ Feb 2025

Length of Contract:    3 months ongoing

 

Our client, a highly respected National Children and Young Person’s Charity, is looking to recruit a CYP Therapist to join their specialist Emotional Health and Well Being Services in the Northeast.

 

The service provides individual and group therapy work to children and young people between the ages of 5 and 18 (and their families) who have experienced Sexual Abuse and/or complex Bereavement.

 

The service works to reduce the impact of abusive or traumatic experiences on CYPs and their families through therapeutic work, assessments, consultation and training.

 

They use evidence-based approaches and modalities to deliver 1-1, group and systemic work

 

They encourage the use of a range of modalities and tools to best fit the child(ren) including personal centred, trauma informed, play, art, drama and integrative approaches.

 

You will support children with mild to moderate EHWB needs and will liaise with parents/ carers, schools, and referring professionals where appropriate throughout the 6-10 session treatment episodes.

 

You will be working with a dedicated team and together with families, partners and other professionals to ensure Children and Young People are fully supported and safeguarded.

Essential Requirements:

  • Accredited diploma in Counselling, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Play, Drama or Art Therapy
  • Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Play Therapy UK (PTUK), Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), or British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) or equivalent professional body
  • Proven track record of working with children and young people
